New CD - Friends Across the Pond - Available now!

A celebration of 10 years of FOAOTMAD - Available now

The roots of the Society go back to a Sara Grey banjo workshop in Ripponden, in November 1993, when two pupils discovered that they were virtually neighbours. So Keith Johnson, another pupil, set up a mailing list and arranged a meeting which developed into the first Gainsborough Old Time Festival, which took place in February 1994. The rest, as they say, is history.

The Friends of American Old Time Music and Dance run an annual old time festival, spring and summer camps and instructional workshops. There is also a quarterly newsletter, the Old Time News, and a CD of old time music, song and dance. Full details of the Society's aims are here.

Session Finder - Old Time might be closer than you think!
